TRIPOLI, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Renewed clashes erupted in the southern Libyan city of Sabha on Wednesday, killing one person and injuring four others.

"The center received one body and four wounded people from the clashes in Sabha since last week," Osama Al-Wafi, spokesman for Sabha Medical Center, told Xinhua.

Al-Wafi confirmed that the center was hit by indiscriminate shelling.

The city of Sabha, located some 800 km southwest of the Libyan capital Tripoli, is witnessing unprecedented insecurity, with rising levels of crime and kidnappings by armed groups, as well as frequent tribal clashes.

The Libyan National Human Rights Commission on Monday confirmed that tribal clashes in Sabha killed two civilians and injured another.

Libya has been suffering insecurity and chaos since the fall of Gaddafi's regime in 2011.
