KIEV, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said on Monday he would resign if the parliament fails to adopt a law on the establishment of an anti-corruption court, according to a statement on the government website.

"If this court, fair and independent, will not be created, I will step down from the prime minister's office," Groysman was quoted as saying after his meeting with Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Andriy Parubiy.

The Ukrainian parliament is set to vote on the draft law on the establishment of the anti-corruption court during the current plenary week, which ends on Friday.

The creation of the anti-corruption court is the key demand of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to release the next portion of aid for Ukraine under the 17.5 billion U.S. dollar cooperation program, which was suspended in April 2017.
