KABUL, July 3 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan law enforcement agencies have arrested 14 drug traffickers within seven days as the war-hit country struggled to fight the narcotics, authorities said Tuesday.

"Counter Narcotics Police of Afghanistan and detective security organization arrested 14 people, on suspicion of transportation of drugs and narcotics from Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Khost and Kunduz provinces," the Counter-Narcotics Criminal Justice Task Force of Afghanistan said in a statement.

The cases were sent to the Counter Narcotic Justice Center, a special Afghan court for jurisdiction of major drug cases, for further investigation, the statement added.

Police also confiscated 11 kg of heroin, 51 kg of opium, 22 kg of crystal methamphetamine, over 3,450 U.S. dollars cash, 19 mobile phones and one vehicle and more than 4,400 rounds of different-type bullets from the arrested, according to the statement.
