BEIJING, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- The domestic box office forecast for Chinese animated feature "Ne Zha 2" has been revised upward to an impressive 10.8 billion yuan (approximately 1.51 billion U.S. dollars), according to data released by ticketing platform Maoyan late on Thursday.

This makes "Ne Zha 2" the first Chinese film ever projected to surpass the 10-billion-yuan mark in total earnings.

As of 10:30 p.m. Thursday, the animated blockbuster has already grossed over 6.06 billion yuan -- a remarkable achievement in just nine days. ■
