      RABAT, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Rwanda beat Equatorial Guinea 1-0 in the African Nations Championship (CHAN), keeping hopes of progressing to quarter-finals alive.

      In Grand Stade of the Moroccan city of Tangier on Friday, Thierry Manzi was the hero of the game with his 67th minute brilliant header which secured the three points for the Rwandans.

      The win lifted Rwanda to level Nigeria at the top of Group C on four points with the same goals, followed by Libya with with three points.

      Earlier on Friday, Nigeria edged the 2014 tittle holders Libya thanks to a late goal from Sunday Felaye.

      With three teams still in contention for a place in the quarter-finals, the the last round of Group C seem promising.

      On Tuesday, Rwanda will clash with Libya while Nigeria face Equatorial Guinea.

      Group A's Morocco and Sudan as well as Group B's Zambia and Namibia have already booked their places in the quarter-finals earlier this week after winning all their first two matches in the tournament.

      The tournament, which is for African footballers based in their own domestic leagues, features 16 teams in four groups.

      The top two from each group advance to the quarterfinals.
