ROME, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Italian soccer club AS Roma's striker Edin Dzeko congratulated the Chinese Lunar New Year in Chinese language on social media Friday.

After a short instruction course on Chinese language, together with his teammates from Associazione Sportiva Roma (AS Roma), Dzeko congratulated the Chinese New Year with the message "Everyone at AS Roma would like to wish Chinese fans a year filled with happiness and peace -- Happy Chinese New Year".

"Let's make the year of the Dog filled with hapiness and peace!" added AS Roma on its official website.

AS Roma's new advertisement campaign went viral and gathered 23,000 views in only 16 hours on its official Facebook profile.

Edin Dzeko, who is also the captain of the soccer team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with his AS Roma teammates Stephan El Shaarawy, Juan Jesus and Radja Nainggolan sent the warmest greetings to Chinese fans by symbolically throwing the dog toy between themselves.

The Chinese Lunar New Year of the Dog falls on Friday.
