AMMAN, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Defending champions Japan were held a goalless draw by South Korea here on Tuesday in their second match of Group B in AFC Women's Asian Cup.

Japan would have secured a ticket to the final four of the tournament and in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, had they beaten South Korea.

Japan will survive the group unless they lose to Australia on Friday.

Also on Tuesday, Australia crushed Vietnam 8-0 in Group B.

Australia opened the scoring in the 8th minute by Kyah Simon, added by Alanna Kennedy, Chloe Logarzo, Emily van Egmond, Samantha Kerr to enjoy a 5-0 lead in the first half.

Australia scored twice after the interval, plus an own goal from Vietnam, to seal the victory.
