      JAKARTA, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- China grabbed its first group victory over the hosts Indonesia 19-2 on the second day of the men's water polo tournament at the Asian Games here on Sunday.

      A total of nine teams are competing in the men's water polo as they are divided into two pools for a round-robin preliminaries. The top four from each pool advance to the quarterfinals with the winners advancing to the medal rounds.

      China who lost to Japan 12-4 in its first group on Saturday, led all through the game 4-0, 6-0, 4-0, 5-2 in four quarters against Indonesia.

      "This game was a good start to prepare for the next, because yesterday we lost to Japan. I only told my team that the match would be easy if we had prepared ourselves more seriously. The strongest opponents for us are Japan and Kazakhstan because both of them are experienced," said Porobic Petar, head coach of China.

      Putra Reza Auditya, captain of team Indonesia, said it was good to play against China for experience. "China is a strong team and we just play our first time at the Asian Games. We met opponents as strong as the Chinese team for the first time. However, it is good for us to prepare for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games," Auditya said.

      In other group matches played on Sunday, Iran cracked down South Korea 16-11 and Kazakhstan romped Hong Kong, China 12-6.
