      JAKARTA, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Hosts Indonesia claimed gold medals in men's singles and doubles on badminton's final day at the 18th Asian Games here on Tuesday.

      Talent Jonatan Christie won men's singles crown in a dramatic manner as he marched past Chou Tienchen of Chinese Taipei, 21-18, 20-22, 21-15. He had knocked Chinese top seed Shi Yuqi out of competition in the first match here.

      In an all-Indonesian men's doubles final, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo withstood late scare to account for Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto 13-21, 21-18, 24-22.

      World No. 1 pair Gideon and Sukamuljo had to save a match point against their fellow Indonesian for the glory in Gelora Bung Karno ISTORA.

      The winning path was smooth for Tai Tzuying of Chinese Taipei, as the top-ranked women's singles shuttler breezed past India's Pusarla V. Sindhu 21-13, 21-16.

      Following 10-day action featuring seven disciplines, China top the badminton gold medal tally with three golds, one silver and two bronzes.

      Indonesia stay behind with a 2-2-4 record in medals. Other two gold medals are shared by Japan and Chinese Taipei apiece.
