SYDNEY, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- With leaders and delegates from 21 member economies, thousands of media representatives and an enormous contingent of police and security personal all set to attend the APEC meeting in November, Papua New Guinea's access to cutting-edge communications equipment is paramount.

In order to make sure the historic event runs smoothly, Chinese company Hytera has provided organizers with a range of specialist gear.

President and CEO of the innovative communications group Chen Qingzhou was quoted by PNG local media as saying on Wednesday "We are providing service and our products to PNG ... for the big meeting which is APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) in November."

The Shenzhen-based Hytera has been providing service in PNG and in the Pacific, but this time, PNG has engaged most of Hytera's products and the company are proud to be associated with the country, he said.

Established in 1993, Hytera is now the second largest provider of professional mobile radio (PMR) in the world with its products used by police, emergency services and a large number of private industries.

To see how the products work for first hand, a team of Pacific delegates from PNG and Fiji was given a tour of the company's facility last week.

"Hytera has never stopped innovating, delivering products with improved form, functionality and integration," Chen said.
