MADRID, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona and Real Madrid return to league action on Wednesday night with away matches.

Barcelona travel to the south of Madrid to face Leganes, who are currently bottom of the Liga Santander without a win in their five matches to date.

Barca will be without central defender Clement Lenglet, who is suspended after being sent off in the 2-2 draw at home to Girona on Sunday night.

Ernesto Valverde, the Barca coach, will make some changes to the side that surprisingly dropped two points with Samuel Umtiti, Sergi Roberto, Phillipe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic all coming into the starting 11 and Lenglet, Semedo, Artur Viral and Arthur all likely to drop out.

Leganes are likely to field Jose Arnaiz, who spent last season in Barcelona's B team and netted three goals for the first team in the King's Cup and this summer became Leganes' record signing for 5 million euros.

Real Madrid face what looks like a much more complicated trip as they travel to face a Sevilla side that looks to have hit top form over the past week with a 5-1 win at home to Standard Liege in the Europa Liga and a club record 6-2 win away to Levante on Sunday.

French striker Wissan Ben Yedder scored five of those 11 goals and is likely to be Sevilla's main threat once again.

Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui is waiting to see if right back Dani Carvajal recovers from the thigh injury which allowed Alvaro Odriozola to make his debut on Saturday, but will make other changes to the side which made hard work of beating Espanyol 1-0 at the weekend.

Gareth Bale and Marcelo look certain to start and it will be interesting to see if new arrival Mariano Diaz gets onto the pitch: if he does the striker can expect a hostile reception from Sevilla fans after he pulled out of a move to Sevilla at the last minute, to join Madrid instead.

With a home game against local rivals, Atletico Madrid on Saturday, this is a key game for Real Madrid if they want to remain level with Barca in the title race.
