SYDNEY, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Australian police have charged three men over a shipment of gun parts which arrived in the country concealed in children's toy motorcycles, authorities revealed on Tuesday.

Earlier this year Australian Border Force (ABF) officers in Australia's Melbourne intercepted the weapons parts, which were sent via the post in three consignments from the United States.

X-ray analysis helped officers uncover the components which were concealed in and around the battery-powered toy motorcycles.

Subsequent property raids in the states of Victoria and New South Wales by Australian Federal Police (AFP) officers uncovered 60 gun receivers, 26 30-bullet magazines, 24 drum magazines capable of holding 50 bullets and 16 handgun frames.

"There is now no chance that these weapons will end up in the dangerous hands of outlaw criminal motorcycle gangs or other criminals," AFP Detective Superintendent Jayne Crossling said.

Three men, aged 25, 26 and 33, were arrested and charged with possessing a traffickable quantity of unregistered firearms, trafficking firearms or firearms parts and intentionally importing prohibited firearm parts.
