WASHINGTON, May 16 (Xinhua) -- The Golden State Warriors edged the Portland Trail Blazers 114-111 in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday.

Playing without their top scorer Kevin Durant, the two-time defending champs rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit to triumph against their opponents and led 2-0 overall. In Game 1, the Warriors powered past the Trail Blazers 116-94.

Stephen Curry shouldered the offensive load again, scoring 37 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Splash Brother Klay Thompson needed a half to heat up, scoring 13 of his 24 points in the Warriors' 39-point third quarter.

Forward Draymond Green had 16 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Warriors. Kevon Looney and Jordan Bell came off the bench to contribute 14 and 11 apiece.

Damian Lillard overcame a slow start to score 23 points and 10 assists and CJ McCollum had 22 points for Portland.

Game 3 and 4 will be held in Portland, and the Warriors will be missing Durant again.

The Warriors said earlier that Durant has shown "good progress", but he isn't yet "ready to advance to on-court work". He suffered the right calf strain in the third quarter of Game 5 against the Houston Rockets one week ago. Enditem
