HOHHOT, China, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Judokas from Germany, Japan, Azerbaijan and Iran were among the winners on the second day of the 2019 International Judo Federation (IJF) Grand Prix here.

China's Tang Jing defeated her compatriot Yang Junxia in the semi-final of the women's 63kg category, but lost her last fight against eventual gold medalist Martyna Trajdos from Germany, who defeated 2018 IJF Hohhot Grand Prix winner Aimi Nouchi from Japan in the semi-final.

Saki Niizoe, representing Japan in the women's 70kg category, defeated Anna Bernholm from Sweden in the final. Two bronze medals went to Giovanna Scoccimarro from Germany and to Kelita Zupancic from Canada.

Azerbaijan grabbed the gold in the 73kg men's competition, thanks to the performance of Hidayat Heydarov, who had already won the World Championship in Juniors & Teams in 2017, the Minsk European Open in 2017 and the Baku Grand Slam in 2019.

The silver medal was taken by Victor Scvortov from the United Arab Emirates, while the two bronze medals were shared by Arthur Margelidon from Canada and Igor Wandtke from Germany.

In the men's 81kg category, Iran took gold, thanks to the victories of Saeid Mollaei. Japan's Sotaro Fujiwara came second, while the two bronze medals were collected by Dominic Ressel from Germany and Lee Sungho from South Korea.
