Wang Taifan (1st L) and his schoolmates enter the dinning hall to have lunch at Chongqing Special Education Center in Nan'an District, southwest China's Chongqing, Oct. 10, 2019. At the age of 12, Wang Taifan, a blind boy, first heard a symphony on the campus of Nan'an District in Chongqing. Then he acquired a trumpet, which granted him a dream for the first time. Since 2014, the trumpet accompanied Wang from the school's small rehearsal hall all the way to bigger stages in Beijing and Shanghai. The orchestra that Wang Taifan studies at is renowned in China now. The significance of the orchestra to students is far more than simply mastering the use of musical instruments. More importantly, the performing of music enables visually impaired students to have a sense of teamwork and the pursuit of dream. Nowadays, the Chongqing Special Education Center offers daily courses on wind instruments, so that every child can have access to music. (Xinhua/Liu Chan)
